so i used a couple +20 crit rate items at the forge, plus a hammer to up the chances to guarantee, this put the item at really high crit rate at +1, but by the time i got to +10 i noticed it had gone DOWN, so somewhere along the lines the +40 crit rate was reduced or removed =/ i'll test this again closely.
